The "International Symposium on Religious Understandings in the Contemporary Islamic World" held at our university was featured as news on the "Regional Agenda" program on TRT Erzurum Radio.


The 1st International Symposium on Religious Understandings in the Contemporary Islamic World, organized by the Faculty of Theology and the Ja'fari Studies Research and Application Center (CAMER) of Iğdır University, was held between October 18-20, 2024. The event was featured on the Regional Agenda program on TRT Erzurum Radio. During the live broadcast, the Symposium's Organizing Committee Chairman, Prof. Dr. Hasan Ocak, provided information about CAMER and the symposium. In his speech, Prof. Ocak emphasized that the symposium focused on the philosophical, social, political, cultural, and historical reasons behind the current fragmentation of the Islamic world. He highlighted that the desired understanding of unity should view differences not as division but as a source of richness. Ocak also pointed out that, in achieving this unity, the people of Iğdır could set an example for our country and the entire Islamic world. Prof. Ocak expressed that their goal was to continue expanding such meetings and emphasized that the environment of unity and tolerance established in Iğdır should serve as a model for the entire Islamic world.
