The Department of Basic Islamic Studies consists of the basic branches of science that were formed with the death of the Prophet Muhammad and the end of the revelation, and each of which became an independent scientific discipline in the historical process. There are eight different departments affiliated with the Department of Basic Islamic Studies, and branches of science belonging to each department.
The main branches of science examine the fourteen-century-old Islamic culture in the areas of faith, morality, law, philosophy, social and cultural fields shaped within the framework of Islam's worldview and understanding of life with an academic understanding and analytical method. It tries to produce contemporary solutions to human and religious problems by utilizing the Islamic cultural heritage and the knowledge and technological developments of the modern age.
The academicians of the department strive to serve humanity with their academic studies, enlighten society on religious issues and train competent theologians by taking into account universal scientific principles in their fields. The main branches of science consist of Tafsir, Reading and Recitation of the Holy Quran, Islamic Law, Hadith, Kalam, History of Islamic Sects, Sufism, Arabic Language and Rhetoric.

Exchange Programs
It offers students the opportunity to study at another university, either domestically or abroad, for a certain period of time. Thanks to these programs, students have the opportunity to learn about different cultures, develop their foreign language skills and gain international academic experience. The most common exchange programs include programs such as Erasmus+, Mevlana and Farabi.
Career
The aim of the Department of Basic Islamic Studies is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to deeply understand and interpret the basic sources and teachings of Islam by examining them from an academic perspective. The program aims to train experts in their fields and to train researchers and educators who deal with classical and modern interpretations of Islamic sciences.
The Department of Basic Islamic Studies maintains its importance as a broad academic interest and research topic today, and is expected to pioneer the development of comprehensive and innovative approaches to Islamic sciences in the future by being enriched by technological innovations and interdisciplinary studies.
Graduates of the Department of Basic Islamic Studies can work in various professions such as academics, religious officials, teachers, researchers, religious publication editors and consultants.
