About Us

Our faculty was established under the Rectorate of Iğdır University with the publication of the law numbered 5765, accepted on 22.05.2008, in the Official Gazette (Resmi Gazete) numbered 26892, dated 31.05.2008. 

Iğdır University Faculty of Theology is one of the theology faculties that provide higher education in the field of religious studies in Turkey. Our faculty started education in the 2009-2010 Academic Year. It is a 4-year faculty and the language of education is Turkish. Our faculty aims to provide students with authentic religious knowledge and methods of using knowledge in the field of Islamic sciences and religious sciences. Academic courses are given by academic staff who are experts in the field. Full-time education is provided in the faculty.

Iğdır University Faculty of Theology consists of three academic departments, namely, Department of Basic Islamic Studies, Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, and Department of Islamic History and Arts. Students who take the relevant courses of the departments in question, which provide them with the knowledge and equipment needed by a theology student, receive a diploma as a graduate of the faculty of theology.
