During the event organized by the Van/Muradiye District Governorship and the District Directorate of National Education, Tan stated:
"Every human being is born into this world without any knowledge. After arriving in this world, they acquire new and different information from their family, environment, and the institutions or individuals they engage with. Thanks to what I call the 'innovation gene,' humans are constantly driven to seek out new and different knowledge. That’s why people are not interested in knowledge that was produced long ago and simply transmitted today. They’re just not. For this reason, sacred texts urge people to observe the events occurring around them. Through this process, individuals enrich their faculty of thought by acquiring even a small amount of new knowledge through their own reasoning. A person lives a meaningful life through the knowledge they have earned by their own effort."
